Kala Akademi will present Desh Raag, a two-act Konkani play on Goa’s martyr Bala Raya Mapari, on October 29 at 7 pm at Rajiv Kala Mandir, Ponda, as part of the Golden Jubilee of the Goa State Konkani Drama Competition. Written by Yugank Naik and directed by Shrikant Gawde, the play involves over 100 artistes and highlights the role of working-class communities and the Azad Gomantak Dal in the liberation movement.
Former Art and Culture Minister and Priol MLA Govind Gaude plays Mapari.
Music is by Tushar Kamat and Upendra Salgaonkar, with singer Oluv as a special attraction. Tickets will be available at the venue.
