Alina, please resign!

Now with almost everyone asking you to resign it makes me feel left out of the inner circle and this dismays me. I don't like it at all. It is as if my right to ask you to resign has been taken away from me. I feel it is only right to ask you to resign with one caveat. Please visit an astrologer and find out when is the best time for you to resign. It has to be an auspicious day and not just any day.

As you know well enough, hysterical voices of envy and over bloated egos have made this request as a matter of habit so please do not take any offense. It is best to ignore these people until they find someone else to whom they can give their free advice. In contrast, my request does leave some room for the cosmos which does not always reveal everything to us and does sometimes gets in the way of our plans.

As they say, every cloud has a silver lining and this one is no exception. People usually pay to watch tiatr and all this foolishness regarding the need for you to resign should be viewed as free and wonderful Goan entertainment which everyone knows is a part of our long traditional cultural behavior and we definitely should not look down on it but on the contrary give it pride of place.

Electorate’s power is mighty

If only Matanhy Saldanha and the other activists were backed by their electorate in their passionate and selfless revolutionary movements against the corrupt establishment and dislodged them from 1970’s onwards when the canker-worm of corruption had just struck the social fabric, Goa would not have suffered such a jolt, gradually to be divested of its pristine glory with its natural resources declining exponentially.

So who should be blamed for all the mess we are in? A corrupt electorate gets a corrupt government. At this critical juncture when Alina Saldanha is considered to be a thorn in the present dispensation she ought to continue her battles (though stripped of environment portfolio) to protect the environment from further degeneration with the external support of the activists and the electorate who elected her to do their work, because in a participatory democracy none can fight the battle alone. To resign would be a blunder making a leeway for further environmental tragedies

Poor refereeing

During the first edition of the ISL the standard of refereeing was very good and it was pleasure watching the matches. But unfortunately the standard of refereeing so far for the ISL has not been encouraging. This is a warning sign and something need to be done fast, with top quality players and coaches from world over the refereeing too has to be of a high standard. Though FC Goa played one of their worst match in ISL against FC Chennaiyin, the poor standard of refereeing made things worse for them.
