The “big fish” involved in the murderous attack on the Colva-Margao road is still out of the police dragnet, as the men in uniform have arrested eight persons in connection with the gang war that erupted at Mungul in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police sources informed that the teams constituted by the South Goa Superintendent of Police, Tikam Singh, conducted late-night raids at Quepem, Ponda, Margao and Santa Cruz in search of the big fish allegedly involved in the murderous attack.
Police are verifying whether the plot to launch the murderous attack at Mungul was hatched at Quepem, with sources saying that they are trying to confirm whether the accused persons had met at Quepem before the attack.
The eight persons were produced before the Margao Civil and Criminal Court by the Fatorda police on Wednesday evening. The Court later remanded all the eight accused persons to five days’ police custody.
