The tiatrist fraternity has been left reeling by the sudden and unexpected turn of ill health experienced by one of the stages’ most beloved personalities and is fervently hoping that as ‘the mother of the Konkani stage’ she bounces back as soon as possible
Jessie Dias, a senior artist of the Konkanistage, has recently suffered a health set back and has had to have beenhospitalised at a private nursing home in Mapusa. As her condition showed noimprovement, she had to be shifted to the GMC hospital at Bambolim. Hercondition has now improved but she is not yet fit enough to be discharged and returnto her normal routine. There are indications that she may have to undergosurgical intervention before being declared completely fit.
The tiatrist fraternity were in for a shock upon finding out that theirfavourite artist had to be hospitalised due to health reasons. By virtue of herbeing the senior artist on stage, Jessie Dias is respectfully and unofficiallytitled the mother of the Konkani stage. A humble and warm hearted person, sheshows concern for all her colleagues without any discrimination. She is wellknown among the fraternity for her motherly love and the other artists on theirpart reciprocate these feelings.
Jessie was engaged in the shooting of a Konkani film when her health took aturn for worse and the shooting schedule had to be cancelled. The Goan visitedher in the hospital on learning about her health condition. We wish her aspeedy recovery and early return to the stage with renewed spirit and stamina.
