"Cheap Thrills" singer, Sia has been sober for six years now, and recently took to social media to thank those who have supported her throughout the journey. "6 years sober today. Thank you to all those who have contributed knowingly and unknowingly," she tweeted. "I love you, keep going."

A few months ago, Sia admitted on The Late Late Show that she had struggled with drugs and alcohol abuse throughout her career. "I was a singer already for like 10 or 11 years to mediocre success, and I was an alcoholic and a drug addict, and I sobered up and decided I didn't want to be an artist any more," she said. "I was starting to get a little bit famous and it was destabilizing in some ways...so I thought, 'What doesn't exist in pop music at the moment?' and it was mystery."

But six years later, Sia is drug and alcohol free. She also isn't the only star who has openly discussed addiction and subsequent sobriety. As Sia celebrates six years of sobriety, here's a look at some other stars who've gotten candid about addiction and recovery.

The former Disney star also battled with drug addiction, and has described the pre-sober version herself as a "nightmare." Now, Lovato is a co-owner of a rehab facility and tries to use her voice in any way she can to help others. "I still have more things to prove—not just about the things I can do with my voice," she declared. "Some people think that because I'm young, I can't stay sober. But these are things I want to prove to myself."

One of many celebrities who has been candid about substance abuse in his past, Russell Brand is very open about his recovery. With 12 years clean, he is another example of a superstar who has only shone brighter since doing so.

Another former Disney star, LaBeouf recently claimed that he is also clean. "You don't touch it," he said of becoming sober. "Alcohol, or any of that s--t, will send you haywire. I can't f--k with none of it. I've got to keep my head low."

Oprah is known for her how she inspires those around here. As a result it was a shock when she admitted on her own show that she used crack cocaine in the '80s. While there is a lot of speculation on how long the addiction lasted, it is clear that she has moved past it. Knowing that Oprah once overcame drug addiction just makes her inspirational attitude all the more impressive.

Rapper Eminem has long been open about his substance abuse. It is much more recently that revelations about his struggle to get sober have come out. Like many addicts, he resisted the warnings and concerns of important people in his life for years. Finding his way toward sobriety took him through a near-fatal overdose, and even that wasn’t quite enough. He had to find his own reason to quit: fatherhood. He made it through a harrowing detox to a lasting recovery that persists to this day.

Last summer Tallulah celebrated one year of sobriety with an alcohol-free party. "Last night was one of the most beautiful nights of my life. I was surrounded in a womb of the purest form of love," she captioned a picture of a celebratory cake.

The former Friends star reflected on his darkest days and how hard it was to give up his vices. "I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life and a lot of wonderful accolades," he said, "but the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic comes up to me and says, 'Will you help me stop drinking?' I will say, 'Yes. I know how to do that.'"

Aniston fought addictions to smoking and caffeine all through her run on . Aniston was a full-on chain smoker, and it took an intense detox in 2007 for her to give it up. Now Jennifer uses exercise and yoga to stay nicotine free, replacing cigarettes and caffeine with much healthier ways to relax.

Catherine Zeta Jones began smoking in her teen years and struggled to break the habit in adulthood. She received a wake-up call when the paparazzi snapped photos of her smoking while pregnant, sparking outcry amongst her fans and the media. Fearing that she would pass the habit onto her children, Jones then used them as a catalyst to quit.
