“I strive and work hard to become like him (Neymar). I follow him closely although we do not play in the same position and neither do we have a similar style but he is someone who has achieved a lot at a very young age. Hence he becomes an idol for me,"

Sahil Tavora, the Dempo SC juggler from Miramar left for Brazil on Thursday. He is off to Clube Atlético de Paranaense to step up his rehabilitation coming back from injury. To his good fortune he met Neymar on the flight from Dubai to Sao Paulo. It was a great moment for him because he met the one he looks up to and idolises.
Tavora informed: “I strive and work hard to become like him. I follow him closely although we do not play in the same position and neither do we have a similar style but he is someone who has achieved a lot at a very young age. Hence he becomes an idol for me."
He further went on to say that he didn’t get to communicate much with Neymar because he was with his friends busy playing poker and hence did not get to have a long chat. He just wished me luck and success.
Sahil Tavora, India’s brightest footballing talent stated:“Thank you God for this opportunity. I would also like to thank my club Dempo SC, the entire GetPro team and my agent Beto Silva for making this possible. I have to put in a lot of hard work ahead and I'm really looking forward to it. Thank you everyone for all the love and support rendered." He has a great equation with the entire GetPro team. He thinks that they are a very professional set up and he also shares a special relationship with the director Beto. “I was a part of his academy at U-14, U-16 and U-18 and then went on to play with him at Dempo SC. Now he is my agent and knows me well,” said the 20-year-old footballer.
Sahil will be in Brazil for two months and is completely focused on recovering to being 100 percent stronger than before. “Of course I have a two-year contract with Dempo SC to get back , but it would be hard to turn down an opportunity to be at such a top facility and a club of such high magnitude for my career,” he concluded.
Well all said and done. Only time will tell whether Sahil will stay back to play in Brazil or return to Goa.
