Party’s Rs 15 lakh promise meant to utilise black money for dvpt: BJP

As the ruling BJP kicked off its programme to mark nine years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rule, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar on Friday said the party’s promise to deposit Rs 15 lakh in accounts of citizens actually meant that the black money would be utilised to usher in the development and infrastructure across the country.

He further said though the people of Goa have not got Rs 15 lakh in their accounts, the State has benefited by way of infrastructure development running into thousands of crores in the last nine years.

Addressing the media along with Vasco MLA Krishna Daji Salkar and party leaders at the South Goa district office, the Rajya Sabha MP further said that the State government’s promise to provide free LPG cylinders to the BPL families will be achieved in due course of time.

To a query from a scribe that citizens have still not received the promised Rs 15 lakh in their accounts to date, Tendulkar said: “The promise was not actually meant that individual account holders will get the money, but the money would be utilised for the State as a whole. In Goa, we have seen thousands of crores of rupees being spent on infrastructure by the Centre in the last nine years, benefitting the society as a whole,” he said.

On the free LPG scheme promised by the BJP on the eve of the 2022 Assembly election, the MP said the Goa government is working on the details to implement the scheme.

The Rajya Sabha MP and the Vasco MLA briefed the media on how the Modi government ushered in the development of the country as a whole and how Goa has benefited from the nine-year rule of the BJP-led government.

As part of the programme, party leaders and workers will be interacting with the people to spread the message of the developments ushered in the country and Goa during the last nine years.
