OLD GOA
The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) President and North Goa candidate Manoj Parab has slammed religious leaders who are campaigning against the party in St Andre constituency.

Addressing supporters at a meeting at Neura, on Friday night, Parab stated that their supporters have informed that certain religious leaders are going door-to-door and urging people not to vote for RGP.

“These leaders are apparently telling the voters that RGP is B-team of the BJP and will only split votes of the Congress, thereby benefiting BJP. Such a smear campaign against RGP is unbecoming of these religious leaders,” said Parab.

“These religious leaders should guide their flock with regards to religious matters and not use their position to target RGP,” Parab opined.

Parab further alleged the hand of the Congress behind the campaign.

“While the BJP is using the majority religion to further its political agenda, the Congress is using the minority religion,” he charged.

Later, when questioned by The Goan the effect such campaigning would have on RGP in St Andre, Parab said that their MLA Viresh Borkar is doing an excellent job in resolving various issues of the constituency.
