It was recently revealed that Shahid Kapoor will be playing a delusional rockstar in his upcoming film Udta Punjab. And now there are reports doing the rounds that the role is allegedly based on the life of Yo Yo Honey Singh, who had recently gone underground as he was apparently battling his addictions. The film’s team has officially denied any resemblance between Shahid’s Tommy Singh and Honey Singh, but a source from the film has apparently admitted that there are similarities between the two. “The whole cult of the wild raunchy Punjabi rock star was spearheaded by Yo Yo Honey Singh. I’d say Shahid plays a much wilder and far more aggressive version of Yo Yo,” said the source.
