The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Goa Special Task Force has traced nine foreign nationals found overstaying in the state.
A press note issued by Superintendent of Police, FRRO Goa, Arshi Aadil, stated seven Russians including two minors, and two Ukrainians were among the overstaying nationals.
"Two of the Russian nationals have already left the country. For the remaining individuals, applications for exit permits and visa conversion, wherever applicable, have been submitted and are currently under process," reads a statement issued by the dept.
The FRRO has also issued an advisory to accommodation providers, urging strict adherence to Form III/Form C requirements. Hotels, guesthouses and other establishments have been directed to submit arrival or check-in details of foreign nationals within 24 hours, ensure complete and accurate entries, and update departure details within the same timeframe.
The requirement applies to all foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders and accompanying minor children. Officials warned that any violation, delay or omission may attract penal action under applicable laws.
The FRRO has appealed to all accommodation providers to ensure timely compliance, stating that strict legal action may be initiated in cases of non-compliance.
