The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa on Wednesday strongly condemned threats made against its volunteers in Margao while they were collecting signatures under the #BJPCheBurak door-to-door signature campaign.

AAP Goa President Adv Amit Palekar alleged that the threats came from a close associate of the new PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, who is also the Margao MLA. According to Palekar, the associate approached AAP volunteers while they were gathering signatures from Margao residents and warned them to leave immediately or face assault.

Palekar hit out saying, “If they have so much dare, let them try and stop me when I lead the #BJPCheBurak campaign in Margao on Thursday, along with other AAP leaders. Volunteers can be threatened, but AAP’s movement cannot be stopped.”

Palekar highlighted that the #BJPCheBurak campaign has received an overwhelming response, with over 5,000 signatures collected in just two days across Goa. He pointed out that the campaign has already forced the BJP government to act, as potholes in some areas have been filled. However, he stressed that much work remains unfinished, and the campaign will continue until Goans get safe roads.

“The massive response to our campaign has rattled BJP. They see AAP leaders on the ground, meeting people, and they are scared of our growing popularity. That’s why they are resorting to threats and intimidation. But Goans know the truth, and they will not forgive BJP’s arrogance and failure,” Palekar declared.
