PANAJI: The High Court Bombay at Goa has granted conditional bail to Saurabh Sahni, a Lucknow native arrested by the Goa Crime Branch for allegedly uploading a 19-month-old video showing men soliciting a foreign national at Baga in North Goa.
Police said the clip was circulated on social media platforms, including YouTube and Facebook, with the intent of boosting online followers. The Crime Branch had taken suo motu cognisance of the video after it surfaced online and traced it through its social media monitoring and technical analysis units.
Sahni was later arrested from Lucknow following an investigation into the origin of the upload. Authorities said the video was linked to content originally recorded near Tito’s Lane and later reposted online.
The Crime Branch has recorded the statement of the foreign national involved and continues its investigation into other individuals seen in the clip.
