The Colva police has arrested one person and seized a bull in connection with a bullfight that had taken place in Benaulim village on Saturday.
The action comes in the wake of a video clip circulating on social media platform showing two bulls locked in a fight at Benaulim.
Police initially informed that unknown accused persons had organized a bullfight between two bulls for the entertainment of the public in an open place with public view and incited their bulls to fight with each other, thereby subjecting them to cruelty.
The Colva police on Monday evening informed that they have arrested one person in connection with the bullfight. One of the bulls has been seized by the police.
A case under section 11 (1) (m) and 11(1) (n) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act has been registered by the police.
