The single day count of fresh Covid-19 cases crossed the 100-mark again on Saturday with samples of 117 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. In distant Canacona concerns were raised after the taluka recorded 12 new Covid cases.
The daily health bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services said 969 samples tested in these 24 hours and eight persons were hospitalised and four were discharged.
Also, there were 34 recoveries and the State's active caseload rose to 601.

According to sources, 12 new cases were reported from different parts of Canacona, including the municipal areas of Mangan, Bhagatwada, Delem and Nagarcem, as well as Galgibaga, Poinguinim and Shrishthal.
The Covid-positive patients were tested and are being treated by the Community Health Centre (CHC) but have been advised isolation in their respective homes.
Health authorities have cautioned people not to lower their guard, but to continue taking precautions and to observe Covid protocols in their daily activities.
