MARGAO: Cuncolim police have registered an FIR against two persons from Naqueri, Quepem, in connection with a complaint filed by Quepem Mamlatdar Nathen Afonso regarding the illegal extraction of laterite stones. In the complaint, the Mamlatdar stated that before March 17, 2026, in Naquerim village, Quepem, the accused had illegally extracted laterite and rubber stones without obtaining the necessary licence or permit from the competent authority. They are also accused of transporting the material to an unknown destination, thereby committing theft of State Government resources for personal gain.
