Goa Police orders promotion exam for 133 head constables

The Goa Police have announced a written test and parade examination for 133 head constables as part of the process to determine eligibility for promotion to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspector under the recruitment rules.

As per the order issued by the Superintendent of Police (HQ), Tushar Vernekar, the selection process will be conducted at the Police Training School, Valpoi, under the Goa Police, beginning on June 15.

The examination will comprise a written test and a parade test, each carrying 50 marks, making a total of 100 marks.

The written examination (indoor) will include General Knowledge and Current Affairs (20 marks), Knowledge of Police Organisation (10 marks), and Duties of Civil Police/Armed Police (20 marks).

The parade test (outdoor) will assess Turn Out (10 marks), Squad Drill (20 marks), Rifle Exercise (10 marks), and Saluting with and without rifle (10 marks).

The order further stated that candidates will be required to secure at least 35 percent marks in aggregate to qualify for consideration for promotion.

All eligible head constables have been directed to report to the Principal of the Police Training School, Valpoi, on June 14 at 5 pm with full kit and bedding. They must also produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a Government Medical Officer or Police Medical Officer at the time of reporting.

The exercise for promotion, police sources said, is for personnel upto the rank of Police Sub Inspectors.
