Mapusa fire personnel rescued a 65-year-old man from a 70-feet deep well in Carona, Aldona.
An officer from the fire and emergency services, Ashok Parab informed that the senior citizen Malu Gawde was suspected to have accidentally fallen into the well on Tuesday night.
The Mapusa fire station received a call at around 11 pm.
According to the fire officer, the man fell in the well which contained at least 35 feet water and latched on to one of the jutting stones which are used to climb and go down the wells.
“The neighbours apparently heard a sound of someone jumping into the well and went to investigate when they found the man inside the well,” Parab said.
The fire officers used a ladder to rescue the senior citizen who had suffered simple injuries due to the fall.
