PANAJI: A bomb threat reported at the Passport Bhavan in Patto this morning was declared a hoax after a detailed security check by authorities.
According to police, the headquarters received a threatening email around 10.39 am, prompting an immediate response. Fire personnel, police teams, and other emergency services rushed to the spot and carried out a thorough search of the premises.
After completing inspections, officials confirmed that nothing suspicious was found and the building was declared safe. Further investigation into the source of the email is underway.
Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on February 28 issued a communication to all states, cautioning them about the possibility of unrest in India following the recent strikes by Israel and the United States on Iran.
The advisory asked states to remain vigilant and identify “pro-Iran radical preachers giving inflammatory sermons,” amid concerns that global tensions could have local repercussions.
