SBI gifts 70 bicycles,   builds toilet block for   Gaondongrim GHS girls

State Bank of India (SBI) under its CSR initiatives distributed 70 bicycles and built a toilet block for girl students of Government High School (GHS), Gaondongrim.

On Monday, the Girl’s Toilet Block was inaugurated and 70 bicycles were distributed to girl students of GHS Gaondongrim in the presence of Dy General Manager (AO Panaji) Shailendra Mishra, Regional Manager (South Goa) Ashish Kumar, Branch Manager (Canacona) Ashish Pawar, Branch Manager (Gaondongrim) Dhiraj Kumar Singh, other SBI administrative staff Panjim and regional business office in South Goa, GHS Gaondongrim headmaster, teachers, PTA chairman, parents and students.

“This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring better hygiene, dignity and improved infrastructure for girl students, thereby supporting a healthier and more conducive learning environment,” Dy GM Shailendra Mishra, while also speaking about the importance of education, empowerment and social responsibility.

South Goa SBI Regional Manager Ashish Kumar after distributing 70 bicycles to girl students of the school said the initiative was not merely about distributing bicycles but about promoting freedom, confidence and independence among students, while supporting their educational journey.

Earlier GHS Gaondongrim Headmaster Sagar Velip in his welcome address acknowledged the generous support extended by State Bank of India under its CSR initiative and stated it will go a long way towards improving facilities and empowering students.

Teacher Yeshwant Gaonkar also spoke about the facilities that were provided to the school through CSR initiative by SBI, while vote of thanks is delivered by Teacher Nima Carvalho and Teacher Nidhi Painginkar compered the programme.
