Forest Minister Vishwajeet Rane on Tuesday said he has sought a comprehensive report from the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) on tiger death.
Rane stated that a preliminary report has already been submitted, and he will address the media once the detailed findings are received from the PCCF.
He added that samples collected from the carcass have been sent to specialised laboratories for further analysis to determine the cause of death.
When asked about the status of declaring a tiger reserve in the state, the minister declined to comment, noting that the matter is currently sub judice.
A decomposed tiger carcass was found in the forests of Sacorda in Dharbandora on Saturday. The autopsy was conducted on Sunday and the reports are awaited. The forest department has ruled out foul play in the prima facie investigation.
