MAPUSA: Mapusa police have arrested a 19-year-old youth under the POCSO Act for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl from Bardez. The case came to light on Tuesday when the victim was admitted to hospital with abdominal pain. During the medical examination, doctors discovered that she was one-and-a-half months pregnant. The doctors informed her parents, who immediately filed a complaint with the police. Acting on this, Mapusa police arrested the suspect under the POCSO Act. The youth has been remanded to five days in police custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
