Save our villages from real estate rush

As a resident of Colva, I recently had some errands in Nuvem and walked through its beautiful green areas a couple of times. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent air quality compared to Colva and other parts of Goa. However, I was disheartened to see the rapid rise of construction in Nuvem, including housing villas with swimming pools. This development not only threatens the air quality but also risks polluting water sources, as untreated sewage and swimming pool water may be released without proper treatment. I hope the people of Nuvem will speak up to protect their beautiful village. This concern is not unique to Nuvem—many other villages in Goa are also under threat from uncontrolled real estate development.
