The devastating fire at the nightclub which claimed 25 innocent lives is deeply distressing.
It is heartbreaking that our leaders only seem to show up with condolences and inquiries after such tragedies.
If basic safety checks, strict enforcement of fire norms, and timely action were actually prioritised, so many of these “unfortunate incidents” could be prevented instead of being followed by meaningless sympathy statements.
I am sure the same tragedy might repeat during New Year if rules are not adhered to.
A similar example is how stray dog bites are sensationalised by authorities, while long-term, humane solutions like large-scale neutering drives and proper stray animals policy is not formulated.
Instead of reacting only when things go wrong, proactive and responsible governance is what truly saves lives.
