Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has alleged massive vote theft and fraud in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, raising serious questions about the credibility of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the fairness of the electoral process. In a press conference, he presented details of alleged vote theft, accusing the ECI of misleading citizens and undermining democracy. According to him, voters now feel cheated and betrayed.
Instead of the ECI responding to these charges, BJP leaders have spoken on its behalf, which the Congress claims is a tacit admission of errors in the voter lists. The party has long alleged manipulation of electoral rolls and tampering with EVMs. Recent revelations of four Nepalese citizens allegedly registered at a Panaji address highlight what Congress terms “Vote Chori.” Rahul Gandhi has demanded registration of cases under BNS Sections 336(2), 420(2) and 340, questioning how non-citizens can obtain voter IDs.
He stressed that vote theft is a criminal fraud and an attack on the principle of “one man, one vote.” A clean, credible voter roll is essential to safeguard free and fair elections.
