Give peace a chance by saying big 'no to war'

JERRY FERNANDES, Saligao | MAY 12, 2025, 07:46 PM IST

US President Donald Trump should be congratulated for mediating and somehow forcing India and Pakistan to go for a immediate ceasefire to bring an end to the recent escalation of tensions, which included missile and drone attacks between the two countries. Of course, the andh-bhakts must be very disappointed after hearing this sad news but they should know that war is not a one-day cricket match or some Bollywood movie but is a serious never-ending/most dangerous dirty game which is played on the ground level using weapons of mass destruction and in which the poor soldiers, innocent civilians lay down their lives. I think that the news of the ceasefire must have also come like a tight slap on the face of all anchors of the pro-Modi news channels as they were already seen spreading their own exaggerated fake stories and trying to spread communal hatred since the last few days over the above topic/issue to desperately give some political mileage for the Modi government and to increase their own TRP ratings.   C'mon India, let's learn to give a chance for peace by saying a big 'no to war', at least in today's modern scenario.
