Tarun Agrawal, a well-known yoga guru who had been staying in Goa for almost 20 years and operating Kranti Yoga at Patnem beach in Canacona before moving back to Dongargarh three months ago to set up an ashram was reportedly arrested in Chhattisgarh for allegedly operating a sophisticated drug network from his ashram. The Dongargarh Police have seized nearly 2 kg of cannabis and uncovered links to foreign funding and multiple NGOs. Shockingly, the State government and Goa Police have still not issued a single statement with regards to the arrest of the above notorious yoga guru and neither the local news channels have bothered to highlight this particular incident. Today, Goa has indeed become a safe haven for all the notorious elements from the neighbouring states. In fact, most of these non-Goan elements come here and start running their own illegal activities right under the nose of the state government and Goa Police. The government should instruct the Goa Police to keep a strict vigil and take quick action against all such notorious non-Goan elements i.e. self-styled godmen, babas, gurus, etc.
