Calangute MLA Michael Lobo whilst speaking to media persons the other day was heard saying that some people who have lost elections were still trying to play politics with Shivaji statue in a bid to revive their political careers. Well, in a way what Michael Lobo has said is partly true. But isn't Lobo himself also trying to play politics over Shivaji's statue at Calangute? Then why is he openly still not saying that the said statue that has been installed overnight on the Saligao-Calangute road is illegal and should be shifted to its original spot at the earliest? Why Lobo had not bothered to immediately meet those protesting Shiv Premis outside the Calangute Panchayat Ghar and tried to defuse the tense situation on that fateful day despite being an MLA of Calangute? I think that Michael Lobo too needs to do a lot of answering before accusing his political rivals over the above mentioned issue because by now everyone knows which politicians are trying to play dirty politics over Shivaji's statue.
