Residents of government quarters at Baina have strongly come out demanding repairs of the old building. The residents have given ultimatum to the government for repair works as the building structure is old and needs attention for repairs. The said quarters have around 100  families  and the condition of building is getting worse. There are many such old quarters in goa which need repairs or reconstruction. Goa receives monsoonal rainfall every year and hence leakage and waterproofing work is a priority. The government should conduct structural audit which is mandatory after certain age of the building. The building and quarters are occupied by families hence safety should be prime focus. Government can even decide on reconstruction as it's their own property. Instead of repair works every year one time solution will resolve the same. The state should carry out audit on old structures and obtain  a report on status of building so as to save lives and budget to avoid spending on repairs. All old buildings should undergo renovation or new quarters must be built to accommodate there workers.
