Benaulim beach is notorious for the canine menace, with many incidents of dogs biting tourists or morning walkers taking place. Now the dogs have travelled inland due to the bleeding hearts who feed dogs by the side of the road up to the Maria Hall crossing. With shacks closed and no food available, these hungry dogs turn feral and attack senior citizens, pedestrians, two-wheeler riders and motorists. All measures taken by the authorities to control the population have come to nought. It would be better if these irresponsible elements who feed dogs at random places took them home as pets, cared for them and stopped them from being a nuisance to the public at large. As a bonus, good karma would accrue to them.
