The children's playground area which is next to the Holy Cross Chapel at Mena Cavorim ward which is the property of village panchayat of Chandor Cavorim is in a desperate condition. The slides, swings and other playing equipments are cracked, rusted, parts broken, damaged and in a unsafe condition which need urgent maintenance for the safety of the children. The white sand on the ground is turned into hard mud, white sand provides a soft surface and reduces the risk of injury. There should be pavers installation for the clean environment. The question is who is doing the inspection of the broken equipment? The village panchayat office should decide who will be responsible for the maintenance? There are many schemes of state and central government that fund the panchayat to carry out the works but who cares about the safety of children in the park. The government of Goa and the village panchayat are busy selling Goa to outsiders for villas and flat projects and can count on receiving kickbacks.
