The Goa Legislative Assembly on Friday rejected the motion moved by Benaulim MLA Venzybab Viegas to build the Benaulim stretch of the western bypass on stilts. What about the initiative to convince Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to sanction funds in order to build the bypass on stilts? Goa Forward Chief Vijaibab Sardesai had knocked Gadkari’s doors with a plea to build the bypass on stilts. Before Vijaibab, Cong-turned-BJP MLA Diggu had promised to take up with Gadkari the construction of the bypass on stilts. Benaulikars have been left to wonder whether it’s all over or they should wait for Gadkari with the hope the Union Minister will get the bypass built on stilts. Wait and watch.
