What plans does BJP chief have for Fatorda at 2027 Assembly polls?

GUILHERME ALMEIDA | 06th September, 09:09 pm

What’s on the mind of BJP Goa chief Damubab Naik? Well, the former two-time Fatorda MLA turned 53 over the weekend, and while celebrations were in full swing, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane extended his best wishes and hoped whatever Damubab has in mind for 2027 comes to fruition. Without leaving much room for speculation, Damu was quick to respond: his only plan is to bring the BJP back to power in the Assembly elections scheduled for early 2027. Still, the buzz in political circles continues — what about Fatorda? It's a question that refuses to go away, and is doing the rounds in Fatorda and outside again and again. Only time will tell.

Benaulim Congressmen await approval
from party bosses for ZP poll candidates

Congressmen from Benaulim constituency seemed raring and geared up for the upcoming Zilla panchayat polls. Members of the block are even believed to have zeroed in on potential candidates it believes can challenge AAP in the constituency. There’s, however, a snag: they are still awaiting formal approval from the party’s leadership to move forward. With just 2-3 months to go for the polls, grassroots Congressmen in Benaulim are still in the dark about the party’s broader strategy. Wait and watch.
