Alec to ride out at Indian Supercross Racing League

Alec Sequeira of Sirvodem Racing Club de Goa, Navelim, has been selected as a fill-in rider for Season 1 by SG Speed Racers team which will participate in high-intensity off-road CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) races to be held in Ahmedabad and Delhi.

Upcoming 16-year-old Alec, is the first Goan racer to be selected for the prestigious event conducted by Indian Supercross League. He will participate in the 250cc India and Asia category which will see a minimum of six privately owned teams participating in the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) recognised event.

Former National Supercross and Motocross champion Alan Sequeira, disclosed that his son's performance at the recently held captivating Sequeira Memorial Supercross event held in Navelim caught the attention of Ashwin Lokande, Director of Supercross India Private Limited, who alongwith Veer Patel (co-founder and director of Ceat ISRL), Eeshan Lokande, Nilesh Dhumal, Vikram Dhar initiated the move for the promising rider and ultimately succeeded in his son signing the agreement in which the franchisee will provide the full-fledged facilities under the League Operations. The first round was held in Pune with international riders.

Alec is the first Goan rider to have signed for Indian Supercross Racing League 2024 with the organisers working to establish India as the focal point for the supercross for the world. The third round will be held on February 25.

Meanwhile, Yogiraj Digambar Kamat, patron of the club, Antonio Rodrigues, President, Javed Shaikh and members of Sirvodem Racing Club hailed Alec for making Goa and Goan riders proud as he will participate on Sunday in the premier high-intensity off-road motorcycle racing league which is the world's first franchise-based event set to revolutionise the way the sport is perceived in India. "The event will certainly push the limits of the skills of Indian riders and inspire them to reach new heights," remarked Alan, secretary of the club.

Meanwhile, another Goan, Zabi Mulla of Margao has also been shortlisted and is likely to be invited for the event. He is yet to sign the agreement.
