Amrut Naik from Curchorem emerged as the champion of the 1st All Goa Chess Championship for the Visually Challenged 2025, held at the Calangute Association Club House, Calangute.
Displaying consistent performance throughout the tournament, Amrut secured a crucial draw in the final round against Sudhakar Jadhav to finish with 4.5 points out of 5, maintaining a sole lead and clinching the title.
Close on his heels were Salman Patel and Shivam Sabir, both scoring 4 points and securing the 2nd and 3rd places respectively based on tie-breaks.
A total of 15 Visually Challanged players from across the state participated in this event, celebrating the spirit and talent of visually impaired chess players.
