Goa's men's team started their campaign in the 73rd Senior National Basketball Championship with a comprehensive 108-37 win over Andaman and Nicobar Islands in a Level 2 Group C encounter in Ludhiana on Sunday.
In a total team effort in which five players scored in double figures, the top scorers for Goa were Salman with 20 points, Tanish Lotlicar with 18, Jordan Dias with 14, and Aryan Raut with 12 points.
The 73rd National Basketball Championships are being held at Guru Nanak Indoor Stadium, Ludhiana from December 3 to 10, jointly organised by the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and the Punjab Basketball Association.
Both the men's and women's teams underwent a rigorous two-week training camp at Don Bosco courts, Fatorda, and Youth Hostel grounds, Panaji. The men's team is being coached by Venkatesh Sai and Olencio Dias, while the women's team is being coached by Andriel Fernandes and managed by Sonali Raut.
