Fracture Veterans Verem kicked off their 1st All Goa Veterans Football Tournament at the Reis Magos Church Ground with an exciting opening match between Calangute Veterans and Goa Police Veterans.
Calangute Veterans emerged victorious with a 3–1 win in a well-contested encounter.
Seby Vaz opened the scoring for Calangute in the 20th minute, giving his side an early lead. Just five minutes later, Mahesh Sawal equalized for Goa Police Veterans, making it 1–1.
Calangute restored their advantage before halftime with a second goal scored by Marcus Carvalho, putting them ahead 2–1 at the break.
In the second half, Calangute continued to press forward and sealed the match in the 65th minute when Sebastian Fernandes added a third goal, confirming their dominance on the field.
The match was an entertaining and competitive start to the tournament, showcasing the skill and passion of veteran footballers.
