Caniza Peixoto Memorial Football: Pidadigal SC crowned champions

Pidadigal Sports Club emerged victorious in the 2nd Caniza Peixoto Memorial Football Tournament, defeating Cumborda Sports Club 2-1 in a thrilling final held at St. Alex Church Ground, Curtorim, on Sunday. The tournament was organised by Black Arrow Boys Agxem Sports Club.

Rywan Fernandes gave Pidadigal the early lead, but Cumborda SC responded with an equaliser from Roy Fernandes. The match-winner came in the second half, once again from Rywan Fernandes, securing the title for Pidadigal SC and earning him the distinction of both First Scorer of the Finals and Best Forward.

Curtorim MLA and IDC Chairman Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco was the chief guest and presented the trophies, joined by ZP Member Michelle Rebelo, Fr Milagres Fernandes (Chaplain of Carmel Chapel), and other dignitaries, including Tyson Caido, Ali Shaikh, Agnelo Gomes, Conny Peixoto, and Mario Gomes.
