In a one-sided football match between Mandopa Sporting Club and Cuncolim Union, the latter showcased a dominant display of football to secure a comfortable 3-0 win in the GFA First Division League match, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Monday.
Cuncolim Union led 1-0 at the breather. Cuncolim Union held upper hand in both the halves and showed enough patience and determination to break the deadlock in the 21st minute when Dezwin Dias slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot.
At the other end, Mandopa Sporting Club were subdued and hardly made an impact on the rival. As the second half unfolded, Cuncolim maintained their dominance on the field by continuing their onslaught. In early moments of the second half, a brilliant display by Dezwin resulted in him beating the rival defenders but missing narrowly.
Ayman Khan produced a clinical finish to complete a quick fire second goal in the 87th minute. As the game wore on, the dynamic play continued as substitute Vanael Travasso scored by delivering a shot to conclude the match with a resounding 3-0 victory.
At SAG Trinity ground, Benaulim Nuvem Sports Club defeated Dempo Sports Club. Dempo colts got the breakthrough in the 39th minute through Leo Gomindes. However their joy was short lived when Alloid Colaco neutralised the lead in the 47th minute. Amit Pundalik Naik struck the match winner for Nuvem Sports Club in the 55th minute.
