Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda booked their spot in the semifinals of the 26th All Goa Our Lady of Merces Football Tournament with a commanding 3-1 win over Ambelim Sports Club in a thrilling quarterfinal clash at Chinchinim.
Fatorda wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring twice within the opening ten minutes. Shubert Colaco struck first in the 7th minute with a calm, clinical finish, and Rahul Sharma followed up just two minutes later, capitalizing on a lapse in the Ambelim defense to make it 2-0.
The second half resumed with equal intensity, and Hanslum Furtado extended Fatorda's lead to 3-0 in the 47th minute, effectively putting the game beyond Ambelim’s reach. Arvind Fernandes pulled one back for Ambelim in the 55th minute, but it proved only a consolation.
Fatorda's goalkeeper delivered a standout performance, making a stunning save to deny Samson Fernandes what seemed a certain goal. Meanwhile, Cliff Baretto impressed with his precise through balls, controlling the tempo in midfield. Despite the loss, Ambelim’s Asfin Pinto earned plaudits for his dazzling footwork and creativity on the ball.
