set to face Manas Mavericks in their first match on January 3

Dempo Challengers on Friday launched their official jersey for the fifth season of the Panjim Gymkhana Members League (PGML), the T20 competition organised by the iconic Panjim Gymkhana, where the team will be among eight participants.
The upcoming edition will see the addition of two new sides, namely the Sun Estate Warriors and Sherwin Shaw Falcons, adding depth to the lineup of the cricket league.
The jersey launch event also saw the unveiling of the Dempo Challengers’ training kit and fan jersey.
“The fact that Dempo Challengers is participating in the PGML for the fifth successive season indicates our steadfast commitment to promoting sports. Our official team jersey is a reflection of our competitive spirit and bonds of unity and brotherhood,” Shrinivas Dempo, chairman of the Dempo Group, said at the official jersey unveiling ceremony in Panaji.
The jersey launch was held at a formal gathering at Dempo House, bringing together senior leadership from the Dempo Group and its partners. Present at the event were Shrinivas V Dempo, chairman of the Dempo Group of Companies and owner of the Dempo Challengers, along with Yatish S Dempo, director at the Dempo Group of Companies.
Also in attendance were Sharmila S Prabhu, senior general manager for finance and taxation at the Dempo Group of Companies and vice president of the Dempo Cricket Club, Siddharth Goyal, CMD, Shree Jai Ganesh Ispat, Vijay Khemka and Gajal Jhunjhunwala, directors at V2J Minerals and Mandar Acharya, state head of Kotak Mutual Fund. The Dempo Challengers’ coach and captain were present as well.
The T20 league’s maiden edition was won by the Prescon Panthers, followed by a stellar victory by the Dempo Challengers in PGML 2.0. The third season saw Manas Mavericks lift the trophy as champions, while the fourth season was won by the Priority Titans.
PGML 5.0 will get underway on January 3 with two matches scheduled on the opening day. Dempo Challengers will face the Manas Mavericks in the day’s first fixture, followed by a clash between Priority Titans and Sun Estate Warriors in the second match.
The upcoming edition tournament will comprise 28 matches in total, including the final, which is slated to be played on February 22.
