The annual sports festival of Dnyanprassarak Vidyalaya was held at the Goa Football Ground in Duler, Mapusa, recently.
The event, held in the presence of chief guest Michael Lobo, MLA of Calangute Constituency, was a celebration of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ceremony also saw the presence of the chairman of Dnyanprassarak Mandal, Kiran H Shirodkar; Treasurer, Milind Shirodkar; Manager, Shanti Shirsat; Headmaster, Gurudas Palkar; President of the PTA, Prashant Narvekar; and members of the Vaisha Mandal.
The sports day began with an impressive march past by the four competing houses, followed by a series of exciting events. Students participated in relay races, 100-metre sprints, obstacle races, and tug-of-war competitions, which kept the audience on the edge of their seats. The competition was fierce, with several records being broken and thrilling finishes.
The Green House emerged victorious, clinching the overall championship. Other highlights included free hand exercises, an aerobic drill, and a yoga drill, all of which demonstrated exceptional teamwork and coordination.
The event was further graced by guest of honour, Daniel Lobo, Deputy Sarpanch of Parra Village Panchayat, who distributed prizes to the winners.
The festival also provided a special moment to felicitate ex-students Sanjali Nagvekar and Sohali Nagvekar, who had the honour of singing the official song of the 37th National Games 2023 in Goa. The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of a memorable and successful sports festival.
