Shree Nagesh Maharudra Sports & Cultural Club registered a narrow 2-1 win over Nauxim Sports Club in a GFA Second Division League Ilhas zone match at Taleigao ground on Friday.
Shree Nagesh Maharudra SCC struck a goal in either half of the match. Rohan Adkonkar broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute giving Shree Nagesh Maharudra the lead. Nauxim SC levelled the terms in the 35th minute through Tusher Murgaokar. The teams walked away level 1-1 at the breather.
In the second half, Shree Nagesh Maharudra SCC began to dominate the game. Minesh Shailesh K managed to take the lead for Shree Nagesh Maharudra in the 86th minute to give his team full points.
FC Goa girls make merry
FC Goa blanked Laxmi Prasad Sports Club with a resounding 18-0 win in the GFA U-14 Girls League at Duler Stadium on Friday.
After the initial midfield battle, FC Goa opened their scoring through Siya Naik in the 9th minute. Vishwaja Gaonkar scored the second in the 9th minute and Sienna Fernandes scored the third for the winners in the 13th minute. In the 18th minute, Laxmi Prasad’s Kajal Sawant put the ball in her own net to add another goal for FC Goa.
FC Goa scored at regular intervals through Sienna Fernandes, Mrunmayi Pednekar, Siya Naik, Shalvi Govekar and Amie Ferrao, making it 10-0 before the break. In the second half, Sienna Fernandes and Siya Naik completed their quadruple each in the 48th minute and 69th minute respectively. Vishwaja Gaonkar and Prachi Naik completed their brace each in the 65th minute and 70+4 minute each. Krislynn Menezes and Anushka Kumbhar were the other goal-scorers for the winners.
