Goa's rising football star, Brison Fernandes, has received a significant call-up to the Indian Football team's Under-23 squad for their upcoming friendlies against Malaysia U-23. The young talent, currently showcasing his skills as a midfielder for FC Goa in the ongoing ISL season, is set to make his debut with the Indian national team.
The Indian U23 men's team is scheduled to travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, today (Wednesday) for two friendly matches against Malaysia U23 on March 22 and 25, coinciding with the FIFA international match window.
Heading the team as the head coach is former India international and current NorthEast United FC assistant coach Naushad Moosa. Assisting him are Noel Wilson as the assistant coach and Dipankar Choudhury as the goalkeeper coach.
A list of 26 probables for the India U23 men's team camp was announced by Moosa on Thursday, March 14. The camp commenced on March 15 in New Delhi, following which the final squad of 23 players will depart for Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday morning.
The squad includes a mix of talented players across various positions, with notable names such as Arsh Anwer Shaikh, Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, and Vishal Yadav as goalkeepers, and promising defenders like Bikash Yumnam and Chingambam Shivaldo Singh.
In the midfield, alongside Brison Fernandes, players like Mark Zothanpuia and Mohammed Aimen bring their skills to the table, while the forward line boasts talents such as Abdul Rabeeh and Isak Vanlalruatfela.
