Goa Police emerged as the champions of the Bandodkar T-20 Cricket Tournament, defeating Stamina CC by 7 wickets in the final played at the Bandodkar Cricket Ground in Margao on Tuesday.
After winning the toss, Goa Police opted to field first, and Stamina CC posted a modest total of 110 runs in 19.5 overs. Key contributions came from Peter Fernandes (29), Prathmesh Gawas (19), and Gauresh Gawas (17). Goa Police's bowlers dominated, with Sanjay Naik (2-22), Harshad Matonkar (2-21), Ashok Rathod (2-5), and Vinod Wilson & Somesh Prabhudesai (1 wicket each) keeping the Stamina batters in check.
In response, Goa Police comfortably chased down the target, scoring 113/3 in 14.3 overs. Swapnil Malik (33*), Sunny Kanekar (32), and Somesh Prabhudesai (23) played key roles in the chase, while Avinash Gawas contributed 17 runs. Sahil Dhuri was the pick of Stamina’s bowlers with figures of 2-22.
For their efforts, the winners, Goa Police, were awarded a cash prize of ₹50,000 along with the Bandodkar Trophy, while Stamina CC received ₹25,000 and a trophy.
