GFA President Caitano Fernandes announced on Friday that the 2024-25 Goa Professional League will commence today with an expanded lineup of 14 teams. The league welcomes its newest entrant, Clube de Salgaocar with a direct entry, set to make its debut against Geno FC, at Duler Stadium in Mapusa.
Goa Police is the other entrant that has joined the GPL league by virtue of their promotion from the GFA First Division League.
“We're pleased to see the growth of our league, now featuring 14 competitive teams,” Fernandes stated. “Clube de Salgaocar's recent performance in the Bhausaheb Bandodkar Trophy qualifiers has been noteworthy, and we look forward to seeing how they fare in the league.”
Fernandes emphasized the importance of fan support in creating an engaging atmosphere for the players and encouraged football enthusiasts to attend the matches throughout the season.
