MARGAO: Hosts Goa Velha Sports Club secured a 1–0 victory over St. Anthony's Club, Colva to advance to the quarterfinals of the 18th London Trophy Inter-Village Football Tournament 2026, organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and sponsored by the Goan community in the United Kingdom.
The solitary goal came midway through the second half when Atish Sawant struck past the Colva goalkeeper.
Samson Gomes of St. Anthony’s Club was cautioned for dissent by words by match referee Yeshwant Parab.
The Man of the Match award went to Sohan Kavlekar of Goa Velha Sports Club. The award was presented by Willy Gonsalves, ex-player and life member of Goa Velha Sports Club, with sponsorship from Joshua and Philbert Lopes.
