CANACONA
Jesmon and Shrujal (A-17), Raghav, Shravya (U-14), Nakul and Kumari Manasvi emerged in their respective boys and girls categories of the 11th Canacona Taluka table tennis tournament, organised by Canacona Sports & Cultural Club in association with St Anthony's High School, Galgibaga, Canacona.
Eighty-seven paddlers from Canacona taluka participated in three age categories (Under-14, Under-17 and Above-17 years) in the boys and girls section. The chief guest for the prize presentation function was Dy Sarpanch VP Poinginim, Sunil Paingankar, while the Guest of Honour was VP Poinguinim Panch Pravir Bhandari.
The rank-wise prize winners: U-14 boys - First place: Raghav Sawant (Mallikarkun HS), second: Naivedhya Parge (St Anthony HS), third: Denoy Rebello (St Anthony HS); Girls - first: Shravya Naik Desai (Mallikarjun Vidyala), second: Ariana D'Costa, third: Marsha Fernandes (St Anthony HS); U-17 boys - First: Nakul Bhandari (Shradhanand Vidyalaya), second: Nishad Pagi (SS Angle HSS), third: Joadly Fernandes (St Anthony HS); Girls: First - Manasvi Desai (Mallikarjun Vidyalaya), second: Archani Pagi and third Ratisha Sudhir (St Anthony HS); Above-17 Men - first: Jesmon Fernandes (SS Angle HSS Mashem), second: Fraser D'Souza (SS Angle HSS, Mashem), third: Samprabh Phaldesai (Shradhanand V Painginim); Women's section - first: Shrujal Painginkar (Shradhanand V Painginim), second: Greeshma Bhagat (Mallikarjun V), third: Nehaila Barretto (St Anthony HS, Galgibaga).
