MARGAO: The 19th Village Panchayat Cup, All Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament, organized by Clube Recreativo Cultural de Chinchinim, kicked off with an exciting opening match at the CRC Ground on Tuesday.
In the inaugural encounter, Navelim Villagers Union dominated St. Anthony Colva, securing a convincing 2-0 victory. Clinton Niasso and Swedon Costa scored the goals, while the Navelim goalkeeper made crucial saves to maintain a clean sheet.
The match was graced by Frank Viegas, Sarpanch of Village Panchayat Chinchinim-Deussua, who also presented the Man of the Match award to Clinton Niasso for his outstanding performance.
