A triple strike by Nayab Khan helped United Club of Seraulim drub St Sebastiao Youth Club Murida 5-1 in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League at Nagoa Village Panchayat Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Seraulim led 3-1 at the breather. Seraulim scored in the 9th minute when Nayab Khan slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a neat finish. Sentrao Fernandes scored the second in the 23rd minute before Nayab scored again in the 32nd minute.
Down 0-3, Murida went into attacking mode and scored in the 43rd minute as Edison Dias pulled one back. Nayab then scored in the 45+1 minute to register his hat-trick. In the 83rd minute, Sentrao struck a second time to make it 5-1.
SCS Poitomado down Chandor Club 2-1
Santa Cruz Society of Poitomado defeated Chandor Club 2-1 in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League at Dramapur Ground on Wednesday. Santa Cruz dominated the game and scored in the 34th minute when Ravesh Velip slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot. Crossing over, in the 66th minute, Royal Olveira increased their tally. Rivaldo Cardozo pulled one back for Chandor Club in the injury time.
Fr Agnelo reach Martins Cup final
Fr Agnelo YC Paroda prevailed over Curtorim Gymkhana 4-2 via the tiebreaker and moved into the final of the Martins Cup 2023 organised by Betalbatim Sporting Club at Betalbatim panchayat ground on Wednesday.
Fr Agnelo took the lead in the 5th minute through Dravid Fernandes. Curtorim equalised in the 25th minute and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. In the tiebreaker, Oliver, Clement Gladstone and Omkar scored for Paroda while Amar and Aliston scored for Curtorim.
The Man of the match award was presented to Salvin Fernandes. Fr Agnelo will meet CAC Cansaulim on January 15 on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Remedios.
