Former India International Neha Tanwar has been appointed as coach of Goa’s women’s senior cricket team for the upcoming domestic season 2025-26 which will begin in the month of October.
A right-handed opening batter and right-arm off spin bowler, Tanwar started playing domestic cricket in 2004 and made her international debut in 2011.
She has played international cricket against Australia, England, New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lanka. Her major cricket teams include India Women, India Red Women, Railways and Delhi. In fact, Neha has played more than 100 first-class matches in a domestic career spanning more than a decade.
Later, she seamlessly transitioned into a rewarding coaching career spanning more than 8 years, utilizing the ‘Hybrid Level-2’ Cricket Course certification from the BCCI. Her extensive playing career has enriched her with invaluable on-field expertise and insights.
In her coaching career, she has played a pivotal role in nurturing talent and shaping future cricketing stars at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru wherein she conducted impactful High-Performance cricket coaching camps, contributing significantly to the development of aspiring talents under the aegis of the BCCI.
Neha also had the privilege of coaching within the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA), focusing on mentoring the Senior Women's Cricket Team, and has also been the Head Coach in Punjab Cricket Association.
Knowing for her good coaching abilities, Tanwar's coaching emphasizes personalized skill development tailored to each player's needs.
39-year-old Neha is also known as ‘Super Mom’ on the field having made comeback to international cricket in 2017 after delivering a baby boy.
Goa’s senior women’s cricket team is currently in New Delhi undergoing training. They will assemble in Ahmedabad next month for a T20 tournament. Later, they will participate in BCCI’s Senior Women’s T20 tournament starting from 08 October.
During 2025-26 season, Goa will be playing both T20 and ODI matches.
In T20 tournament, Goa has been placed in group D along with Assam, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Railways and Uttarakhand. Goa will face Uttarakhand in their opening match on 08 October. All the matches in this group will be played at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Whereas ODI tournament will begin from 06 February 2026. Goa has been placed in Group C along with Delhi, Hyderabad, Kerala, Punjab, Railways, Saurashtra and Tripura. All the matches in this group will be held at Ranchi, Jharkhand.
